GOVERNMENT, MILITARY, & SPECIALTY ENERGY SOLUTIONS
Click here to download an overview of how UNI-SOLAR® works for government and military buildings.
UNI-SOLAR photovoltaic laminates are ideal for government and military applications. Encapsulation into a light-transmissive polymer, instead of glass, and the technology of triple-junction amorphous silicon solar cells are the key drivers of UNI-SOLAR’s product benefits including:
/ Flexible. UNI-SOLAR laminates can be incorporated with membrane, mod-bit, or metal roofing; and they can be used on rooftops with
architectural curvatures.
/ Rack-free. UNI-SOLAR laminates are integrated directly into roofing materials. No racking systems are required, and there are no roof
penetrations.
/ Lightweight. UNI-SOLAR laminates can be installed without costly structural roof reinforcements.
/ Glass-free. UNI-SOLAR laminates are encapsulated in UV-stabilized, weather-resistant polymers. They are virtually unbreakable, and
hold-up against vandalizm, hail, and other impacts.
/ Wind Resistant. Direct mounting to rooftops through an adhesive backing give UNI-SOLAR laminates the best resistance to wind up-lift,
withstanding even hurricane winds.
/ Low-light Performance. Triple-junction technology converts more of the light spectrum into electricity, leading to higher energy
production, especially at lower insulation levels and under diffused light.
/ Shade Tolerant. By-pass diodes are connected across each cell, which allows the laminates to produce electricity even when partially
shaded or soiled.
/ Heat Resistant. UNI-SOLAR laminates can yield up to 20% more electricity compared to conventional crystalline solar modules in high
heat.
UNI-SOLAR laminates are already in operation in a variety of government and military buildings, including:
Army Housing, Oahu, HI (6MW)
Luke Airforce Base, Glendale, AZ (375kW)
GSA NARA building, Walthan, MA (375kW)
NAWS Carport, China Lake, CA (108kW)
Victorville City Hall, Victorville, CA (113kW)
US Post Office, San Francisco, CA (107kW)
NAS North Island, Coronado, CA (75kW)
Navy Port Hueneme, CA (95kW)
Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, Honolulu, HI (50kW)
